Make the water slightly bluish.....make the tank smaller and water level lower. Finally, make sure the aeration is slow and the tank is extremely clean (tip-top)....it's in my book....I think...

If this still can't help, foster the fry.....also in my book....

Take care,
Andrew

Hi Ciprian,
My second book....the non-discus one is already selling.

My third book ....which is my second discus book is still writing....may be a little slow...so most likely early next year  ...due to busy schedule these few months.

Thanks and take care,
Andrew

Hi Andrew,

Perhaps something about the cost of keeping Discus.

This will vary from contry to contry, but in general terms?

You know, £50 to buy your 1st Discus then to discover, it costs £500+++ to get the tank set-up and then the cost of water-changes, heating etc.

A cost based 'preparation list'

Cheers, Mick B

how about a chart of strains explaining which is dominant which is recessive and what to expect in f1's and f2's. would save me and a lot of other people about 20 years of experimentation.

Will put in all the questions in my new book...sure!!!!

But just to answer one question...yes the parent will eat up the white ones or fry of less colour tone. This is because it looks defective to them as compared to the rest.

Further to that, the white ones are slower in growth and weaker due to poor eye-sight so they are not as fast as the blacks siblings and some will starve to death while others might be eaten up by the parents as a form of quality control measure.

Take care,
Andrew

Andrew is this behavior happen often? Recently about 20 fry remaining from the Snow Leopard (fry eaters) were given in care to a BlueDiamond female and a Cobalt male and things were OK. Look at some movies:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aeqYcpyNJNU
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IcTt_2lN0yI

Is this pair special from that point of view?

Samir nice of list of questions. Answers on some of those I'd like to read in the book too.

Yes, happens very often for Albino frys....because of poor eye-sight.

Have to keep the title a secret....for the time being...

I don't want problem....thief stealing my title.

If you remember, I told everyone last year that the website of my non-discus book should be 'athrustthatlast.com'. My lazy webmaker did not log-in for me which I thought he did. In less than 2 days, someone here....an idi-t stole my web-http-address and even have the cheek to demand for a few hundred dollars to buy back. I know the culprit id from this DPH forum because I only annouced it here and not other sites.

As not to compromise and let him win, I changed my book title and web-address to 'Thrusts That Last' and 'thruststhatlast.com'.

So this time, I am not going to leak out the information till everything including printing is completed.

Take care,
Andrew
