Hi Guys

Sorry i have been away, my youngest gave birth too a beautiful baby girl last week but there were some complications. Both are home and well and I have just got back from Poland but I wanted to update the good people here with regards the Dutch show.

First - huge thanks, it was an honour and to be invited.

It was great to meet everyone but really fantastic to meet Fons, Walter, and all of the judges. In fact there were so many great people there it was incredible.

The show was well planned and organised and there were some great fish.

The beer and food in Holland is incredible and the people good natured.

I have lots of photos and good stuff on the show and once I have settled in this week will post them up.

Needless to say if there is a second Dutch show and I am sure there will be Brenda will be dragging me there.

Now Brenda hates fish show so that should tell you how much she enjoyed her stay.

Againg big big thanks to Fons for his kindness and support and Walter . . . you are one in a billion!
All the best

Hi Dougall,

Great to hear both of you had a great time.
We were very pleased to made it very comfortable for everyone
and as I can read we succeeded.
It was great to have you in our show and we hope to be able to
organise a second edition soon.

I'm looking forward for our next meeting which will be very soon (somewhere in Germany).

Fons.

Hi Fons

I look forward to a second show. The first one was well planned, well laid out and full of good people.

It indeed was a great honour to meet so many good people - both on the Judging panel and from the club.

At every show I have been too I have been humbled by the hardwork and dedication of a core of poeple that strive to make a show such a success - it is amazing.

Yes we indeed will meet in Germany, I must say that when I recieved my invitiation to particpiate as a Judge at the 2008 Duisburg Championship I was simply over the moon.

I hope to meet many of my new freinds from Holland there too.
All the best

I can imagine you were over the moon by the invitation for Duisburg. This is a carrier move like going from the working floor at a multinational company to the board of directors. Unfortunatly for you there isn't a raise involved :tong:

You bet you'll see a lot of your new Dutch friends. I can tell you everyone of them will be at the center of the Discus world.

Hi Fons

The other thing that impresses me with non UK's is their multilingual skill!!!!!

I have a learn German CD and it is very painful and fun at the same time.

So if I can:
ask the way to the nearest steak house, Stendkers stand, and the bar
and thank my host in German

I will be pleased.
All the best

My multilingual skill goes no further than English.

When I'm in Germany I always talk English and sofar
I managed to find everything I wanted and to eat
anything I wanted.
