That's not fair you are getting the answer to three question for the price of one. I think the best food for discus is prepared red wiggler worms. The smaller the better. But this is expensive, the next best item is a mixture of beefheart and other ingredients, a wide selection of formulas can be obtained by just reading books,or asking for details on the internet. Everyone seems to have their own favorite mix. As to the cost? It depends on the volume of food obtained at any one time to take advantage of any and all discounts.
I'm myself, there are already enough others.
