Can I keep discus in my community tank?

Postby Walter Soestbergen » Sat Jan 31, 2004 12:52 pm

Now that is a loaded question that could take volumes of paper to answer. I recommend a few good books dealing with Discus culture. Study them and ask others who keep discus for their advice :read:

If it is an Amazonian tank - then quite possibly.

As a quick answer to such a broad question yes you can. As a long answer...yes you can so long as you do a little research on the type of fish you want to add in with the Discus making sure that ALL of the perameter requirements of the fish to be added MATCH the exact same perameters that the Discus need to thrive. These would include pH, GH, KH, Temp, environment (like planted, non planted, rocky, slow water, fast water, dim light, bright light etc)

And do not forget to read DPH :welcome: .
